The Supreme Court of India invites online applications from Indian citizens who meet the essential qualifications and eligibility criteria as of 01.08.2024. This is for the preparation of a panel to fill 80 vacancies for the position of Junior Court Attendant (Cooking Knowledge).

Position Details:

  • Post: Junior Court Attendant (Cooking Knowledge)
  • Level: Level 3 of Pay Matrix
  • Basic Pay: ₹21,700 per month
  • Approximate Gross Salary: ₹46,210 per month (including allowances and HRA)
  • No. F.3/2024-SCA (RC)

Note: The number of vacancies may be subject to increase or decrease based on requirements.

Reservation Policy in Direct Recruitment

Reservation in direct recruitment for the following categories shall be governed by the prevailing rules, orders, and notifications issued by the Government of India:

  1. Scheduled Castes (SC)
  2. Scheduled Tribes (ST)
  3. Physically Challenged (PWD)
  4. Ex-Servicemen

The reservation applies to posts that carry a pay scale corresponding to that of a Junior Court Attendant (cooking knowing). This reservation policy is subject to modifications, variations, or exceptions as specified by the Chief Justice from time to time.

Additionally, the reservation for dependents of Freedom Fighters shall follow the orders issued by the Chief Justice of India.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Educational Qualification:

    • (a) Xth standard (10th grade) conducted by any Board/Institute recognized by the Government.
    • (b) A minimum of one year full-time diploma in cooking/culinary arts from a recognized institute.

    Note: Ex-servicemen without the one-year diploma may apply if they possess a trade/competency certificate in cooking or catering issued by a competent authority.

  • Experience: Three years of cooking experience in a prestigious hotel, restaurant, government department, or undertaking.

Method of Selection

The selection process consists of the following stages:

  1. Written Test (Total: 100 Marks)

    • General Knowledge (Objective Type): 30 Marks
    • Cooking/Culinary Arts (Objective Type): 70 Marks
    • Minimum Qualifying Marks: 60% in each component
  2. Practical Trade Skill Test (Cooking including hygiene, etc.): 70 Marks

  3. Interview: 30 Marks

Total Marks: 200

Minimum Qualifying Marks: 60% overall

Written Test Details and Selection Process

  • Duration of Written Test: 1 ½ hours (90 minutes)
  • Negative Marking: There will be no negative marking.

Final Selection: The final selection will be based on:

  • Marks secured in the Objective Type Written Test
  • Performance in the Practical Trade Skill Test
  • Performance in the Interview

Exam Centres

The Written Test will be conducted at 17 test centres across 16 states:

  • Test Centres: Ahmedabad, Ambala, Bengaluru, Bhopal, Bhubaneswar, Chennai, Delhi, Ernakulam, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mumbai, Nagpur, Patna, and Visakhapatnam.
  • States: Gujarat, Haryana, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Odisha, Tamil Nadu, Delhi, Kerala, Assam, Telangana, Rajasthan, West Bengal, Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, Bihar, and Andhra Pradesh.

Choice of Test Centres: Candidates are required to indicate their choice of any three test centres. If there are not enough candidates at a particular centre, those who chose that centre will be accommodated at their next preferred centre.

Note: Inclusion in the final selection list does not guarantee an appointment to the post of Junior Court Attendant (cooking knowing).
