Step-by-Step e-Counselling Process

Step 1: Publication of Merit List

• The university releases a merit list based on entrance exam performance.

• Candidates can check their rank on the official website.

Step 2: Online Registration for e-Counselling

• No need to register for Online Counselling.

Step 3: Choice Filling and College Selection

• Candidates need to select their preferred law colleges affiliated with Calcutta University.

• The seat allocation is based on the merit rank and availability of seats in preferred colleges.

Step 4: Document Upload and Verification

No need to upload any document during verification. These required only during physical verification. Required documents -

• Class 10 and 12 mark sheets & certificates

• BA LL.B Entrance Exam Rank Card

• Birth Certificate

• Caste Certificate (if applicable)

• PwD Certificate (if applicable)

• Domicile Certificate (if applicable)

• Recent passport-size photograph

The university officials verify these documents online before approving the admission.

Step 5: Payment of Counselling Fees

• No Need to Pay anything.

Step 6: Seat Allotment & Confirmation

• The university will allocate seats based on rank, category, and college preference.

• Candidates will receive an allotment letter which they need to download.

• Those satisfied with the allotment must confirm their admission by paying the first-semester fees.

Step 7: Physical Reporting at Allotted College

• After online confirmation, students must visit the allotted college within the stipulated period.

• They need to submit hard copies of documents for final verification.

• The college will then issue the final admission receipt.

1. Correct Information Submission: Candidates must provide accurate details and documents throughout the admission process.

2. Consequences of Incorrect Information: If any false or misleading information is provided by the student or anyone on their behalf, it may lead to cancellation of candidature.

3. Reservation Certificate Requirement: Students applying under SC, ST, OBC-A, OBC-B, PwD, or EWS categories must produce valid certificates from competent authorities during physical verification as per government rules.

4. Student Responsibility for Incorrect Data: Any incorrect document or data submitted at any stage may lead to cancellation of admission and registration as per university rules.

5. University Non-Responsibility Clause: The University of Calcutta will not be held responsible for any incorrect data uploaded online or submitted physically by the student during admission, e-counseling, or e-payment.

6. Declaration Form Submission: If required, students must submit a Declaration Form as requested by the Department of Law, College, or Institution.
