Educational Qualification and Musical Proficiency for Agniveervayu (Musician) Recruitment 2024

Educational Qualification:

Requirement: Candidates must have passed Matriculation / 10th grade or an equivalent level of education, achieving minimum pass marks from a Government recognized School or Board.

Music Ability:

Candidates should demonstrate music proficiency with accuracy in tempo, pitch, and the ability to sing one complete song.

They should manage one preparatory tune and be proficient in any musical notations such as Staff notation, Tablature, Tonic Solfa, Hindustani, or Carnatic.

Ability to tune individual instruments (if tuning is required) and match unknown notes on vocals or instruments is essential.

Instrument Proficiency:

Candidates must show proficiency in playing at least one instrument from either List A or List B:

  • List A: Concert Flute/Piccolo, Oboe, Clarinet in Eb/Bb, Saxophone in Eb/Bb, French Horn in F/Bb, Trumpet in Eb/C/Bb, Trombone in Bb/G, Baritone, Euphonium, Bass/Tuba in Eb/Bb.
  • List B: Keyboard/Organ/Piano, Guitar (Acoustic/Lead/Bass), Violin, Viola, String Bass, Percussion/Drums (Acoustic/Electronic), All Indian Classical Instruments.

It is desirable for candidates to have proficiency in playing two instruments, one from each list.

Musical Experience Certificate:

Candidates must present one of the following to verify their musical experience:

  • A certificate indicating Grade 5th or higher from recognized music institutes like TCL, RSM, KM Music Conservatory, Bangalore School of Music, TSM, GMI, Berklee School of Music, etc.
  • A Diploma or equivalent in the field of music for performers of Hindustani or Carnatic Classical Music from any recognized University.
  • A certificate of participation or awards from various musical events, especially for those who play blowing instruments with staff notation as required in the educational qualifications.
  • These requirements ensure that the candidates not only possess fundamental educational qualifications but also demonstrate specialized musical skills and experiences that are crucial for the role of Agniveervayu (Musician) in the Air Force.
