Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) is set to launch an MBA in Health Care and Hospital Management (MBAHCHM) starting from the July 2024 IGNOU Admission session. This new program aims to equip students with the skills and knowledge necessary to excel in the health care and hospital management sectors. Course Structure

The MBAHCHM program comprises a total of 112 credits, spread across four semesters. The first and second semesters each consist of seven papers, with each paper carrying four credits. The third and fourth semesters focus on specialized courses, allowing students to delve deeper into specific areas of health care and hospital management.

Semester Papers:

  • First Semester: 7 papers, 4 credits each
  • Second Semester: 7 papers, 4 credits each
  • Third Semester: Specialized courses, project, and practicals
  • Fourth Semester: Specialized courses and internship

Internship and Practical Training

A key component of the MBAHCHM program is the hands-on experience gained through practical training and internships. Students are required to complete a project and practicals during the third semester. Additionally, a three-month internship in a hospital or health care association is mandatory, providing students with real-world experience in the field.

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for admission to the MBAHCHM program, candidates must meet the following criteria:

  • General Category: A minimum of 50% marks in graduation.
  • Reserved Categories: A minimum of 45% marks in graduation.

Fee Structure

  • First and Second Semesters: ₹15,500 each
  • Business Problem Course: ₹19,500
  • Fourth Semester: ₹17,500
