About Midnapore Law College

Midnapore has long been known as an important center of learning in eastern India. During the period of the East India Company, efforts were made to introduce Western education in the region. In 1834, Midnapore Zilla School was established, which later expanded its academic programs. By 1873, the institution introduced the F.A. course and was upgraded to the status of a Second Grade College. In 1997, during the 125th anniversary celebration of Midnapore College, the Governing Body decided to establish a law college in the city.
