The Andhra Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test (APTET) 2024 is a crucial examination for aspiring teachers in Andhra Pradesh, ensuring they meet the necessary standards to teach from Classes I to VIII. 

The syllabus for APTET 2024 includes subjects such as Child Development and Pedagogy, Language I (Telugu/Urdu/Hindi/Kannada/Tamil/Odia), Language II (English), Mathematics, Environmental Studies for Paper 1, and additional subjects like Science and Social Studies for Paper 2. 

The exam is scheduled from August 5 to August 20, 2024, with two sessions each day. Eligible candidates must possess specific educational qualifications, such as a Diploma in Education or a Bachelor’s degree with relevant teacher training certifications.

APTET Qualification 2024

  • For Paper-1A (Classes I to V in Regular Schools):
    • 12th with D.El.Ed or D.Ed (Special Education) or B.El.Ed or Degree
  • For Paper-1B (Classes I to V in Special Schools):
    • 12th & Diploma or PG Diploma
  • For TET Paper-2A (Classes VI-VIII):
    • 12th with B.El.Ed/ B.A/ B.Sc or B.A.Ed/ B.Sc.Ed or Degree/ PG with B.Ed, B.Ed (Special Education), B.Ed-M.Ed
  • For Language Teachers (Classes VI to VIII):
    • Degree/ PG in the concerned language and Language Pandit Training Certificate
  • For TET Paper-2B (Classes VI-VIII in Special Schools):
    • Degree or PG with B.Ed.(Special Education) or B.Ed (General) with Diploma (School Education) or B.Ed. Special Education and PGPC or PG Diploma (Special Education) or BA B.Ed. in Visual Impairment

AP TET Syllabus 2024

The examination includes only Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs), with each question carrying one mark. There is no negative marking for incorrect answers.

Papers and Eligibility

  1. Paper-I

    • Target Group: Candidates intending to be teachers for Classes I to V.
    • Qualification: Minimum qualification for this paper includes possessing a Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed) or a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed).
  2. Paper-II

    • Target Group: Candidates intending to be teachers for Classes VI to VIII.
    • Qualification: Candidates should have a Bachelor's Degree along with a B.Ed or equivalent.

Candidates with qualifications for both D.El.Ed and B.Ed intending to teach Classes I to V or Classes VI to VIII are eligible to appear for both Paper-I and Paper-II.

    • Duration: 2 hours and 30 minutes

  1. Child Development & Pedagogy:

    • The test items will focus on the educational psychology of teaching and learning relevant to the primary level for Paper-I and upper primary level for Paper-II.
  2. Language Selection:

    • Candidates can choose from several languages offered as the first language under the state syllabus, including Telugu, Urdu, Hindi, Kannada, Tamil, and Odiya.
  3. Scoring and Validity:

    • The APTET certificate is valid for a lifetime, as per the guidelines of the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE).
    • There is no restriction on the number of attempts a candidate can make to acquire the APTET certificate. Candidates can also appear again to improve their scores.
