About NALSA

The National Legal Services Authority (NALSA) was constituted under the Legal Services Authorities Act, 1987 to provide free legal aid to economically and socially weaker sections of society and to organize Lok Adalats for the speedy and amicable settlement of disputes across India.

About the Internship

NALSA's Internship Programme provides law students with practical exposure to the functioning of India's apex legal aid institution. Interns gain valuable experience in legal services, access to justice, policy implementation, legal awareness programmes, and court-related activities while working alongside experienced legal professionals.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Students pursuing a 3-Year LL.B. or 5-Year Integrated Law Course from a recognized institution.
  • Preference will be given to:
    • 2nd & 3rd Year students of the 3-Year LL.B. programme.
    • 4th & 5th Year students of the 5-Year Integrated Law programme.

Internship Duration

  • Duration: 1 Month (Four Weeks).
  • The internship begins on the first day of the selected month.

Internship Guidelines

  • No stipend, remuneration, TA or DA will be provided.
  • Interns must arrange their own accommodation.
  • Working Hours: 10:00 AM – 5:00 PM.
  • Working Days: Monday to Saturday (2nd & 4th Saturdays are holidays).
  • Minimum 90% attendance is mandatory.
  • Interns must bring their own laptop.
  • Local travel to courts and government offices may be required.
  • Formal Black & White dress code as prescribed by the Bar Council of Delhi.
  • This is a full-time physical internship.

Internship Certificate

  • Certificate will be awarded upon successful completion.
  • Minimum 90% attendance is compulsory.
  • No Letter of Recommendation (LOR) will be issued by NALSA.

Documents Required

  • Updated Curriculum Vitae (CV) or Resume.
  • Expression of Interest (Maximum one page).
  • No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the Dean, HoD, Placement Committee or Competent Authority.
