About the Internship

The NITI Aayog Internship Scheme, launched in 2015, aims to provide students with practical exposure to government functioning and policy formulation. The internship duration ranges from a minimum of 6 weeks to a maximum of 6 months, depending on departmental requirements and approval.

Eligibility Criteria

Students from recognized universities or institutions in India or abroad may apply if they satisfy the following conditions:

For Undergraduate Students

• Must have completed or appeared in the 2nd Year / 4th Semester examination.
• Must have secured at least 85% marks (or equivalent) in Class 12.

For Postgraduate Students

• Must have completed or appeared in the 1st Year / 2nd Semester examination.
• Must have secured at least 70% marks (or equivalent) in Graduation.

For Research Scholars / Ph.D. Students

• Candidates pursuing Research or Ph.D. programmes are eligible to apply.
• They must have secured at least 70% marks in Graduation.

Students Awaiting Higher Admission

• Students who have completed Graduation or Post-Graduation and are awaiting admission to higher studies are also eligible.
• The gap between declaration of results and the proposed internship month must not exceed 6 months.
