  • Applicants should have completed 17 years of age as on the 31st December 2024.
  • There is no upper age limit for Engineering, Architecture, B.Pharm, BAMS, BSMS, BHMS and BUMS Courses.

Course Duration and Internship Details

MBBS, BDS, BHMS, BAMS, BUMS, BSMS: These courses last for 4½ years (9 Semesters) and are followed by a compulsory 12-month internship program.

Eligibility for admission to professional courses requires Indian citizenship, with Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) Cardholders treated as Indian citizens but not eligible for reservations. Applicants are classified into three categories based on nativity for admissions:

Special provisions apply to nominees from the Government of India, UTs, Jammu & Kashmir, and those under reciprocal quotas with other states, who are exempt from the above categories.

KEAM 2024 Education Eligibility

For admission to professional courses, academic qualifications must meet the standards set by the relevant Central Councils.

Eligibility for B.Sc.(Hons) and B.Tech Courses in Agriculture and Environmental Sciences:

B.Sc.(Hons) in Agriculture, Forestry, Co-operation & Banking, and BFSc courses: Candidates need to pass Physics, Chemistry, and Biology in the Higher Secondary Examination or equivalent, with a combined 50% in these subjects.
B.Sc.(Hons) in Climate Change & Environmental Science: Besides the above requirements, candidates must have studied Mathematics at the Plus Two level.

Keralite: Originating from Kerala, including children of All India Service officers assigned to Kerala, but ineligible for reservations or fee concessions.

Non-Keralite Category I (NK I): Non-Keralites who either studied in Kerala, are children of Government/Defence personnel in Kerala, have lived in Kerala for 5 years within a 12-year study period, or completed their school studies in Kerala from 8th to 12th grade. They can compete for 'State Merit' seats without reservations or fee concessions.

Non-Keralite Category II (NK II): Those not falling into the above categories can access certain quotas in Engineering and Architecture courses in private and government cost-sharing colleges, subject to availability after Keralite and NK I candidates. They're also eligible for up to 10% of management quota seats in private Pharmacy colleges but not for Government college admissions in Medical and Allied, Engineering, Pharmacy, or Architecture courses. They do not qualify for reservations or fee concessions.

MBBS/BDS: Need 50% in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology/Biotechnology plus English in higher secondary or equivalent.

BAMS/BHMS/BSMS: Require 50% in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology with English. For BSMS, knowledge of Tamil is required, either at the 10th/12th standard or learned in the first year of the course.

BUMS: Must have 50% in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology with English. Knowledge of Urdu, Arabic, or Persian is required at the 10th/12th standard, or Urdu must be learned along with Arabic and Mantiq Wa Falsafa in the first year.

B.Tech in Biotechnology (under KAU) and BVSc. & AH Course: Eligibility includes passing English, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology with a 50% aggregate in these subjects at the Higher Secondary Examination or an equivalent examination.

KEAM 2024 Eligibility for Engineering Courses

Candidates aiming for engineering courses, including B.Tech in Agricultural Engineering, Food Technology (under Kerala Agricultural University), Dairy Technology, Food Technology (under Kerala Veterinary & Animal Sciences University), and Food Technology (under Kerala University of Fisheries and Ocean Studies), must meet the following criteria:

They should have passed the Higher Secondary Examination of Kerala or an equivalent examination with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects. Chemistry is an optional subject, but if a candidate scores at least 45% marks in these subjects combined, they are eligible for admission.

If a candidate hasn't studied Chemistry, scores in Computer Science will be considered. If the candidate hasn't studied both Chemistry and Computer Science, Biotechnology scores are considered. If the candidate hasn't studied Chemistry, Computer Science, and Biotechnology, Biology scores will be taken into account.

For admission to specific courses like MBBS, BDS, BAMS, BHMS, BSMS, BUMS, and certain B.Tech courses, candidates must also qualify in NEET-UG 2024 and meet the nativity conditions outlined in the prospectus.
